Live Script Readings
Arts Accelerator holds open calls for submissions where writers submit 10 pages of a short film or excerpt from a feature film for consideration.
Five to seven scripts are selected to be read live.
On the day of the event, local actors are cast on the spot to read selected scripts in front of a live audience.
All live performances are recorded and shared on the Arts Accelerator YouTube Channel and through social media channels to promote local creative talent.
Live Script Readings offer Writers and Actors the opportunity to develop their professional skills and network.
Writers experience hearing their work read aloud, and actors practice cold reading in front of a live audience, a crucial skill for the casting process.
This event is open to the public. Both novice and experienced actors, writers, and filmmakers are encouraged to submit work and perform.

with a mentor guiding you every step of the way in our Screenwriting and Filmmaking Masterclasses and workshops.
Intensive weekend Masterclasses in Screenwriting and Filmmaking are open to attendees of all levels from novices to experienced professionals.
The Masterclasses are designed to enable attendees to express their unique creative visions by rapidly developing professional-level creative writing and filmmaking skills.
In these dynamic, hands-on workshops, attendees learn a unique, practical approach to story development and film production that enables consistent, professional quality output in short time frames.
The program begins with an interactive 90 minute presentation clearly describing the tools, with extensive examples of how they are applied.
The presentation is followed by a highly interactive 60 minute demonstration where attendees participate in the application of to tools to an improvised real world example.
Attendees spend the rest of the weekend working hands-on with one-on one guidance from experienced professionals, applying the tools to their respective creative projects.
The programming is focused on producing tangible artifacts attendees can use as examples of creative professional work. The screenwriting Masterclass produces finished short scripts, or richly detailed treatments for rewrites of or expansion into longer form content, and the Filmmaking Masterclass produces a short film.
To promote South Florida film talent, Arts Accelerator submits the films created in the FIlmmaking Masterclass to competitive film festivals and offers opportunities for distribution on streaming platforms.
Masterclass short scripts and films have been produced and screened at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival as "Official Selections".

It takes a village to make a film!
Join us for the next networking event and connect with other South Florida Filmmakers!
A social networking event, like speed dating, but for local film creatives seeking collaborations or film professionals interested in learning about the emerging South Florida production trends.
Past meetups have been hosted in collaboration with organizations like Ball & Chain, Savor Cinema, Lauderale Brewery, featuring guest speakers like the Broward Film Commissioner.
Programming varies from structured networking events where creatives meet a broad set of potential co-workers, to presentations by top professionals relevant to the state of the film industry. Topics include emerging monetization opportunities, technologies, and best practices.
Casting & Networking Meet Ups
Showcase your talent and connect with the community
These events are designed to connect actors and filmmakers to help them form teams to compete in the 48 Hour Film Project or any other projects a filmmaker is working on.
Actors perform 1 minute monologues to showcase their talent and then creatives connect and network after.
